Bellevue Stratford Hotel
These
two lanterns are over 5 feet tall and weight over 200 pounds each. They
are 100% brass, down to the last screw. The housing is an assortment of
brass spinnings, brazed together to create the lid and base, and 3/8" thick
brass plates as structural members. The finish is a mirror polish with a
clear lacquer coating.
The beveled glass panels are rather unique, as they are one piece units but beveled to appear as four. The illumination is from 28 miniature, low voltage lamps, which make the beveled glass sparkle and a PAR-38 lamp mounted in the bottom, reflecting indirectly off of a reflector inside of the lid.
